The short version. Use the app for your own shopping, don't attack it or abuse other people with it, and it stays free unless you choose to subscribe. If you do subscribe, the app stores bill you and renew you automatically until you cancel with them. Your lists belong to you.
1. This agreement
These terms are between you and Sayari Silicon ("we", "us") and cover the Nippy Shopper app, this website and the service behind them (the Service). Installing or using the Service means you accept them. If you don't, don't use it.
Our privacy policy explains what we do with personal data and forms part of this agreement.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher age for consenting to online services, and able to enter into a contract where you live. If you are using it under the age of majority, do so with a parent or guardian's agreement.
3. Your account
- An account is optional. Without one, the app works offline and stores everything on your device only — nothing is backed up, and we cannot recover it for you.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- Give us an email address that reaches you. Account and billing notices go there.
- One account per person. Don't share it; invite people to your lists instead.
4. Plans and what each includes
There is a free tier and a paid subscription, Nippy Household. What each includes is listed on our pricing section. Two things about the limits are worth stating plainly:
- Your personal lists and items are never capped, on any plan.
- The limits that do exist — how many lists you can share, how many people can be on your account, and how long receipt media is kept — are set on our servers so we can adjust them. If we reduce a limit in a way that affects a subscription you are paying for, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel.
5. Subscriptions, renewals and cancellation
Nippy Household is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not take your payment details, and we cannot charge or refund you directly.
- Price. The price shown to you by the store, in your currency, is the price you pay. Prices quoted on this site are for the United States and may differ in your market.
- Free trial and introductory offers. Where one is offered, its length and the price after it are shown in the store before you confirm. Unless you cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription automatically. An introductory price applies to the first billing period only, after which the standard price applies.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The store charges you within 24 hours of the renewal date.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your store account — Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel anything, and neither does deleting your Nippy Shopper account.
- After cancelling you keep Nippy Household until the end of the period you have already paid for, then return to the free tier. Nothing is deleted the moment you downgrade, but free-tier limits — including the receipt-media retention window — begin to apply again.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, including any statutory right of withdrawal you have as a consumer. If a store declines a refund you believe you are entitled to, write to us and we will look at it.
- Price changes apply only to future renewals, and only after the store has notified you and given you the chance to cancel, as its rules require.
6. Your lists are yours
You keep every right you have in the lists, items, notes, photos and receipts you put into the Service (your content). You give us only the permission we need to run it for you: to store your content, back it up, transmit it between your devices, show it to the people you have shared it with, and generate things like thumbnails. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups that expire on their own.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload — a photographed receipt is fine; someone else's copyrighted material is not.
7. Shared lists
Inviting someone to a list lets them see and change that list, and see the name you display. It does not give them access to your other lists, your history, or your account. Anyone on a shared list can leave it, and the person who created it can remove them. If you delete a list you own, it goes for everyone on it — so check first. Deleting your account works differently: a shared list you own passes to the member who has been on it longest, rather than disappearing from everyone else's app.
8. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law with it, or use it to harass, threaten or abuse another person;
- upload malware, or content you have no right to upload;
- try to access accounts, lists or data that are not yours;
- attack, overload, probe or scrape the Service, or work around its limits — including by creating accounts to get around the number of people on a plan;
- resell or redistribute the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse engineer it, except to the extent the law says you may.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running but we don't promise it will always be available — maintenance happens, and things break. We may add, change or withdraw features. If we withdraw something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you and, where that is fair, refund the unused part of your subscription through the store.
Because the app is offline-first, most of it keeps working during an outage; syncing resumes when the connection does.
10. Third parties
The Service relies on the app stores, your device's operating system, and providers such as Google Firebase for notifications and diagnostics. Their terms govern their parts. Sign in with Google or Apple is likewise governed by that provider's terms.
Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and are not responsible for the Service; where Apple's rules require it, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Ending it
You can stop at any time: delete your account in the app, or simply uninstall. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we must in order to protect other people or the Service — with notice unless the situation makes that impossible. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; see section 5.
12. What we do and don't promise
The Service is provided as it is. Beyond what is promised here and what your consumer rights guarantee, we don't make other warranties — in particular we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will suit a particular purpose of yours.
Prices, totals and reports are a record of what you entered, not financial advice and not a guarantee of what anything costs in a shop.
13. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law.
Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data that you could have avoided by keeping your own copy, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £50 (or its local equivalent).
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where you habitually reside, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in this section removes the protection of the mandatory consumer law that applies to you.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes, and for material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service afterwards, the updated terms apply; if you don't accept them, stop using it and, if you are subscribed, cancel through your store.
16. Contact
support@nippyshopper.com — we read everything that arrives there.
Written to be understandable rather than impressive. It is not legal advice, and it does not affect rights you have under the law where you live.
